Our goal is to consistently provide exceptional state-of-the-art dentistry that meets our patients dental and cosmetic goals. We strive to provide care with warmth, compassion, and a gental touch. We take great pride in staying abreast of new information and research through educating ourselves and our staff throughout the year.

 

Meet Dr. Karen Thompson

Dr. Thompson graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in 1997. She served as a class officer for the first three years in dental school and was student body president during her fourth year. Dr. Thompson participated in externships at the VA hospital in Fayetteville, NC and with the Indian Health Service in Winslow, AZ. She was selected for a volunteer dental mission, “Project Mexico”, at an orphanage outside Mexico City her second year and was the recipient of the Dental Alumni Award during her fourth year. After graduation, Dr. Thompson did an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in Florida through the Air Force and spent a total of six years in service to our country, separating in 2003 with the rank of Major. Dr. Thompson practiced in Fayetteville, NC as an associate before relocating to Charlotte in 2004 for her husband to begin his career as a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer.

Dr. Thompson enjoys all aspects of general dentistry including restorative, cosmetic, surgical and pediatric. To provide her patients with current techniques and procedures, she frequently participates in continuing education courses. Her dental memberships include The American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, North Carolina Dental Society, and the Charlotte Dental Society. Dr. Thompson devotes much of her free time to her passion, volunteer and mission work, largely through her church, Carmel Baptist. She is also an active participant with the N.C. Baptist Men who sponsor the mobile dental bus.

Dr. Thompson loves spending time with her husband, Brian, and their three young children, William, Luke, and Blair. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, reading, following Tar Heel sports, and do-it-yourself projects on the fixer-uppers they have owned.

Treatment Planning & Financial Arrangements

While our mission is to help you maintain a healthy and attractive smile, your financial well-being is also a priority. We will present you with the various options available within your overall care program based on the timeframe you select and your budget. We will discuss fees and costs in a caring, open manner so that you have all the information you need to make the appropriate treatment and financial decisions. We are insurance friendly! As an added convenience we accept and assign most dental insurance programs.

Balances not covered by insurance can be paid by cash, check, credit card, or our third party finance plan - CareCredit.
